Meet Joe De Sena, Founder and CEO of Spartan, the world’s largest obstacle race and endurance brand. After building a multimillion-dollar pool and construction business in college, and creating a Wall Street trading firm, Joe set his sights on getting people off of their couches by creating the Spartan lifestyle. With more than one million annual global participants at more than 200 events across more than 30 countries, Spartan offers heats for all fitness levels and ages, from beginner to elite and Kids as young as four-years-old. The brand has transformed more than five million lives since it was founded in 2010. During the entire interview, Joe De Sena was climbing up a 1500 to 2000 foot rope, which is a testament to his amazing physical ability and conditioning. This was a very inspiring and motivating interview with Joe, as he discussed his reasons for creating the Spartan Race, the obstacle courses and the mindset needed to compete in a Spartan race. When I asked Joe if a person had to be in top physical condition to participate in a Spartan race, he stated: “at the very least, you should be able to run one mile every day for 7 days, do 30 burpees, 30 pull-ups and stretch, if you can do that for 7 days straight, you should be able to compete in a Spartan race, if you can’t then, you might as well stay on the couch”. Joe is the “real deal” and a true Spartan at heart. |

Meet Mike Diamond, a former reality TV star, motivational speaker, author, director, life coach, interventionist and philanthropist. Mike has appeared on several Inked TV series, such as NY inked, Miami Inked and Bondi Inked. During the interview, Mike will share what life was like growing up in Perth, Australia, where he was physically abused as a child, thrown out of school, hung out with the wrong crowd and became a drug addict. Mike’s life began to change when he met a woman who gave him a lottery ticket, which was used as a green card and that green card was his “ticket’ to the United States. Mike will also share what it was like after being told by doctors just two years ago, that he had to have his colon removed or he would likely develop colon cancer and never walk again (if he even survived). Mike refused to accept his doctor’s prognosis and decided to take his health into his own hands by changing his diet, juicing regularly, mindful meditation, weight training and running. Mike recently broke a Guinness World Record by running 30 half marathons. (approximately 13 miles) in 30 days, in support of an LA-based, six-year old girl named Layla Rae, who is suffering from a very rare autoimmune disease. In 2020 Mike is planning on breaking another Guinness World Record by running the most ultra-marathons (30 miles +) in a month. Mike believes that we create our own reality by changing the way we think. In his latest book “7 Steps to an Unbreakable Mindset”, Mike shares the stories of several well-known people, whose success was dependent on willpower rather than talent, and gives you the secret on how to replicate their success in your own life. This was an amazing and inspiring interview of one truly awesome human being, who is using his platform to give back to those less fortunate with his work as an interventionist, speaker, philanthropist and his upcoming “Impact Youth” program in May of 2020. |
